On October 11-13, Davis' Company of Indiana Territorial Rangers garrisoned the old fort at Fort Wayne. The Rangers presented a program to the public that consisted of morning and evening formation, firing demos, drill, a history of the Rangers, cooking demos, and one on one explanations of their mission.
Ten Rangers were present during the weekend, led by Captain John Davis. The unit was fed by Pvt. Taylor who acted as the cook with the assistance of 1st Serg. Hoffman who supplied a rabbit that was roasted over the fire. Three of the fort's buildings were occupied which gave the public a good view of the interior of the buildings.
The Rangers welcomed the addition of William Blevins who joined the unit as the surgeon. Dring the non-public hours the Rangers stayed in historical attire and character which added to the memories made during the weekend and made the unit stronger.
Throughout the weekend the public was informed of "Mississinewa 1812", the new site, and invited to join us on Oct. 3-5, 2025.
