Bridging the Gap.png

We are on a mission to create the most accessible site possible as we continue development of our new home. Currently a major gap exists on the North end of our event space that causes guests to backtrack to get from A to B.

We are on a mission to complete our North bridge over the canal before the 2026 event. This bridge will connect the Native Village to the River Rogues Pirate Camp.

Because we have so much still to complete before October 2026, we are on a mission to raise $10,000 for the bridge by 12/31/2025.

Our next BIG project!

Mississinewa 1812 is marching into the future.
And we need your help.

The Mississinewa Battlefield Society is committed to sharing the history of the Battle of Mississinewa and life in the early nineteenth century. Check out details below on how you can help us expand our educational outreach by donating online!

Did you know?

We are a non-for-profit organization that is 100% volunteer ran!

Our first battle reenactment was held in 1988!

We've grown over the decades to accommodate over 30,000 visitors in one weekend, including around 5,000 middle school students!

Reenactors and historians from all over the world attend the event, including Canada, Scotland, Texas, California, Georgia, and Florida to name a few!

Mississinewa 1812, hosted by the Mississinewa Battlefield Society, Inc. 501(c)(3),

is the country's largest War of 1812 living history event, and we have found a new home!

For over 35 years we have grown our event on the same grounds. Due to many logistical challenges, we have now had to face the reality that the space is no longer suitable for our growth or sustainability. While we will certainly miss it, we’ve got big plans ahead of us, including the dream to build a living history park that will foster additional reenactment events the public can enjoy throughout the year! But as strong as our organization is, we know that we will need some help from allies like you!

How can you help?

We are asking for supporters of Mississinewa 1812, our allies, to help sponsor our move!

For over 35 years we’ve been recruiting new generations into an appreciation for history, educating the local school children, and commemorating the historic Battle of Mississinewa that occurred in Grant County over 200 years ago.

We deeply appreciate any amount you can give to support our vision.

We have built a strong foundation, and with your help Mississinewa 1812 will return stronger than ever in 2025!
