Fundraising Efforts

Mississinewa 1812, hosted by the Mississinewa Battlefield Society, Inc. 501(c)(3),

is the country's largest War of 1812 living history event, and we have found a new home! For over 35 years we have grown our event on the same grounds. Due to many logistical challenges, we have now had to face the reality that the space is no longer suitable for our growth or sustainability. While we will certainly miss it, we’ve got big plans ahead of us, including the dream to build a living history park that will foster additional reenactment events the public can enjoy throughout the year! But as strong as our organization is, we know that we will need some help from allies like you!

Did you know?!

-We are a not-for-profit organization that is 100% volunteer ran!

-Our first event was held in 1988!

-We've grown over the decades to accommodate 30,000 visitors!

-Reenactors and historians from all over the world attend the event, including Canada, Scotland, Texas, California, Georgia, and Florida to name a few.

We have found our new home along the banks of the Mississinewa River, between Marion and Gas City in Grant County, IN.  We are excited to use our space to help welcome and educate the community more than just one weekend per year. There will be many expenses associated with acquiring the property and adapting it to our needs.

How can you help?!

We are asking for supporters of Mississinewa 1812, our allies, to help sponsor our move! For over 35 years we’ve been recruiting new generations into an appreciation for history, educating the local school children, and commemorating the historic Battle of Mississinewa that occurred in Grant County over 200 years ago. We deeply appreciate any amount you can give to support our vision. We have built a strong foundation, and with your help Mississinewa 1812 will return stronger than ever!
